Relaxing day at the spa

Oh, how I wish I was at the spa for the day.  *sigh*
My coworker decided his wife, who just turned the big 4-0, deserved a day at the spa.  So he asked me to make a card for him to give to her.  He wanted calming colors, and large enough to put her itinerary on there, too.  So I designed this 5x7 card for him.
I really had a ball making this card for her.  He told me later that she went out to buy a frame for the card.  That really made my day.

Here's the front of the card, and some detailed shots:

This is the back, where he wanted to put her itinerary for her special day

The products I used were almost completely Stampin' Up!.  Most of these items are retired products so I was thrilled to be able to use some of these things up!

Paper: Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, whisper white
Ink: same as above, plus Basic Grey
Stamps: Fast and Fabulous, Tropical Party, Sanded, Watercolor trio
Accessories: build-a-brad, Kraft taffeta ribbon, Baja breeze pleated ribbon, white satin ribbon (non-SU), linen thread, dimentionals, scallop trim border punch

Hope you enjoyed my special birthday card as much as I enjoyed making it!

Class Projects for June

Hello, there!  I am sharing the cards we made in class this month.  One of my stampers requested a technique using shaving cream.  So we made a card using this method, and a generic man-card. They could use this one to be a man birthday or a Father's Day card.  They really had a great time with the shaving cream!
It also happens to kind of fit in with this month's Craft Project Central Sketch Challenge #12 (the three banners are my take).  I saw the sketch before designing this card, and then promptly forgot about the challenge itself.  However, I must not have forgotten completely!
To see more about this Challenge, click here.

Here is the full card:
and some close-up shots of the shaving cream and the details on the tiny butterflies.  We used the butterfly embosslit and the beautiful wings Bigz die.

This is the first version I made, but I thought it really needed to be stepped up.  but it's still a pretty card, and anyone receiving it would still get a gorgeous card.  (please ignore the ink 'oops' on the yellow cardstock)

Here is the Father's Day card we made.  This uses the Island Indigo and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Up! colors--I love this color combo!

Hope you enjoyed the cards today.
