Happy Valentine's Day!

Today is the day to express your love for those you care about.  Honey--I love you!
It's safe to post the pictures of the little box I made for hubby, since I gave it to him last night.  I wanted him to have time to enjoy the 52 Reasons reasons book I made (posted just previously) before he went to work this morning, so last night was our gift/card exchange.
So today, I will share with you the heart-shaped box I made for him.  Inside, I added some Dove Dark Chocolates (YUM!)  He's already shared some with me this morning; he just wasn't there to give them to me *snickers*  Thanks, Babe!

I used the heart framelits from Stampin' Up! to make the box top and bottom.
The paper is Mocha morning (the strip that makes the box) and some luxe vanilla velvet ribbon for the hinges.  I  used one of the heart trinkets for an embellishment, and some yummy chocolate satin ribbon (sadly, retired).
To finish it off, I added two tiny hearts in red glitter paper to signify our two hearts becoming one (the large box being the one big one).  He's the love of my life.
Hope you enjoy!

I love you honey!  Happy Valentine's Day!

52 Reasons why I love you

I am one of the many folks addicted to Pinterest.  While surfing this wonderful mecca of creative ideas, I ran across a project called 52 reasons why I love you.  Apparently, it's an older idea, but was made fresh again by those of us who discovered it on Pinterest.
So I decided this would be a great project for my husband.  Not only would it be theraputic for me to make it, forcing me to think about the many reasons I fell in love with my husband, and those that are new since we've been married for 12 1/2 years, it's a great reminder to him, so he knows all the ways I appreciate him.  It's too often we get caught up in day-to-day life, and I don't want him to think my love has diminished over time.  If anything it's grown stronger.
So I hope you enjoy my take on the popular project!

Start with a deck of playing cards.  I cut a front and back cover using the chip board from a package of DSP.  They are both covered with Mocha Morning flocked paper.  I used 4 large grommets for the binding.  A retired star brad for the closure, along with a piece of twine.  I hope you enjoy!

I have been asked by several of my stampin friends to please show the inside and what each page looks like.  Most of them are written on a piece of white card stock, and layered onto a piece of DSP.  Every bit of these pages were created using scraps I had laying on my stampin table.
I guess I think he's silly because it's in here twice :-)
